Haunted Lounge at Amber Waves
A long standing tradition for theFUNnelCakeBlog crew and friends is to stop by Amber Waves at the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel before heading into Scary Farm. 2019 is no different. In fact, we checked into the Knott's Hotel on Wednesday, the evening prior to opening night and headed straight to Amber Waves. I skipped eating all day to save room for their DELICIOUS, and I mean DELICIOUS salmon, which is always perfectly cooked and topped with three grilled shrimp in a creamy dijon sauce. I paired it with rice and fresh veggies. As a starter, it came with a side salad with fresh blue cheese. Yum. We typically sneak a peak at the Haunted Lounge menu, but it had not been printed yet... bummer.
On event nights, starting at 4 p.m., a special food and beverage menu is available inside the decorated "Haunted Lounge." Around 5 p.m., monsters from the neighboring buffet stop by and are happy to take photos.
A variety of themed alcoholic shots and beverages are offered, created by the bar staff. Purchase one of the Halloween shooters and you receive a limited edition shot glass to take home! My personal favorite... the Jack 'o Lantern's Revenge, which consists of Cruzan Vanilla Rum, 151 Rum, Captain Morgan's Rum, Butterscotch Schnapps, and a blend of tantalizing flavors... think a rum infused drinkable pumpkin pie. My other go to... the Ghost Town Bloody Mary with bacon. See the menu in the gallery below which shows the variety of drinks adorned with Halloween trinkets and candy.
At the bar, Daniel, Mike, and George always greet you with a smile and help kick off a great night of drinks, delicious food, and scares.
Our personal favorites:
- The Poison Boysen
- Jack 'o Lantern's Revenge
Cocktails to Die For
- Ghost Town Bloody Massacre
- The Deranged Mango
- The Drunken Pretzel
- The Grave Digger
- The Burning Flatbread
Next door to Amber Waves, hotel guests with Scary Farm packages are treated to a delicious buffet dinner in a decorated room that sets the mood. On slow nights, walk-ins are permitted as space allows. This year's theme is a deranged, murderous circus. The dining banquet room has been expanded and the layout is more comfortable than year's past. Like the in-park pre-scare meal, diners receive early entry into Scary Farm and access to four mazes before the general public. Note... the hotel buffet does not include a souvenir drink cup.
Spending a night at the Knott's Hotel is highly recommended... purchase the package and enjoy the buffet. Grab a drink beforehand! You need not stay at the hotel though to visit Amber Waves. Make sure to tell Daniel and Mike that Randy from theFUNnelCakeBlog sent you in! ENJOY! Amber Waves Haunted Lounge
