Celebrate 2019 with The Peanuts

Knott's Peanuts Celebration

Weekends through March 10, 2019, and February 11, 15, and 18. Coming off of the insanely busy Halloween season, then Merry Farm, Knott’s once was a literal Ghost Town (as most theme parks are) during January and February… that was, until last year. Piggybacking off of their “Seasons of Fun,” which include the previously mentioned events, the Boysenberry Festival, and summer activities, the quiet winter months were prime for something new. Enter… the “Peanuts Celebration.” Debuting last January, the weekend party included new shows, food options, and a host of other activities. The event proved to be a hit, not only with increased attendance, but earning rave reviews from park guests

Kicking off last Saturday, January 26, the 2019 Knott’s Peanuts Celebration features several shows, a drawing class, a museum, games, food, ride overlays, festive park decor, and so much more. All of the activities are centered around Charles Schulz’s beloved Peanuts characters, which have been a staple (and the park mascots) at Knott’s Berry Farm since 1983. “The Peanuts” is a syndicated daily and Sunday American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz that ran from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000, and continues to appear around the globe to this day. Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and his close group of friends are often found wandering Camp Snoopy and throughout the park, but other less-seen characters have been incorporated into ride overlays and meet-and-greets. “Visiting” the park only one season a year, is Pigpen. You can meet him, and all of his four-legged friend inside the barn at the end of Main Street. Lesser known characters get prominent placement on the Grand Sierra Scenic Railroad, which has been decorated for the celebration.

New this year, and a highlight of the event... is “Spike’s Discoteca de Silenco,” in Fiesta Village. At night, the stage area turns into a silent disco, with guests dancing to their choice of music in headphones. It is hilarious to walk by and see people dancing, without music playing over the speakers. This was so much fun, our group spent a good half an hour dancing to the music, switching between stations. To Knott’s credit, there seemed to be enough headphones for everyone that wanted to dance. And yes… they cleaned them off with sanitizer wipes after each use! Also new this year is “Space Beagle,” a hilarious show in Camp Snoopy where everyone’s favorite Beagle is called upon by NASA to travel to the moon. With catchy music, fun props, and a ton of laughs, this is by far the best Camp Snoopy show to date. Two shows return on the Calico Mine Stage, both revolving around music. One takes place during the day, the other at night. The evening show features SoCal-based Jelly of the Month Club, whose silly songs will have you laughing and singing along for the full 30-minutes. Cameos by Snoopy dressed as iconic rock stars are not only creative, but hilarious!

A variety of themed food and dessert options are available throughout the park. The Fruit Loop Bars and Buffalo Chicken Fries were our favorites. There is so much to try… make sure to come on an empty stomach! Below, find a run-down of all of the activities, shows, food, and merchandise available during the Knott's Peanuts Celebration, which runs weekends through March 10, as well as February 11, 15, and 18.
