Break out the Stretchy Pants…Taste of Holiday in the Park

If this season were a Food Network battle show, Six Flags Magic Mountain would win hands down with not only the creativity and selection of foods available at a theme park holiday celebration, but with the taste and quality of the products. Now in its second year, Magic Mountain’s “Taste of Holiday in the Park,” literary hits it out of the “park.” Led by Culinary Services Manager Christopher Parker, the team at the Valencia theme park will be offering 30 tasty selections at six locations. Tasting cards are available at a reasonable price (and even cheaper if you have an All Season Dining Pass).

Last year we were able to sample nearly every item on the menu through the media event and subsequent visits. There was not one item we disliked. In fact, we went just to have some of the items again. We brought souvenir mugs to fill with soup to take home, and plastic bags to snack on items later in the week. Of all of the holiday events last year, Taste of Holiday in the Park stood out the most. I have been craving the Deep Fried Quesadilla and the Peppermint Stack Brownie all year. This past weekend, we were treated once again to samples of some of the items on this year’s menu. After three trips to the buffet line, I simply had to give up. Once again, everything offered was delicious and worth of another pass through on the sample line. While some of my favorites are not on the list his year (Cranberry and Cream Cheese Pinwheel), others are. There are also several new options to try. Six Flags Magic Mountain may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a foodie destination, but this may change all of that. We will definitely be back to try the Left Over Turkey Burger Slider, the Spicy Cranberry Pulled Pork. The Ham & Gravy Potato Skin, and eat our weight in Peppermint Stack brownies.
