What is West Coast Racers?
Opening later this year at Six Flags Magic Mountain, West Coast Racers is a one-of-a-kind racing coaster that will feature two side-by-side tracks with four individual high-speed launches. The race covers two complete laps, multiple airtime hills, extreme high-banked turns and exhilarating over/under near misses. A highlight of the ride is an immersive real time “pit stop” designed and produced by world famous West Coast Customs that will provide riders with a racing experience unlike any other. West Coast Customs-style Sleek coaster cars designed by West Coast Customs for this unprecedented new ride. West Coast Customs, based in Burbank, CA is a one stop shop for car customization needs. The shop houses a veteran team of technicians, fabricators, designers, electricians, painters and so much more. Everyday, the team works towards the goal of creating custom works of art for their clients. One-of-a-kind Racing Launch Coaster Riders will experience four record-breaking, magnetic launches, including a side-by-side first and second race launch. Dual Racing Launch Coaster Side-by-side airtime hills and over-banked turns with speeds up to 55 mph as riders cross the finish line. Pit Stop Narrated by West Coast Customs Founder and CEO, Ryan Friedlinghaus, the Pit Stop occurs between the two laps and provides riders an exclusive inside look into the West Coast Customs shop, before racing a new train. New Themed Area West Coast Racers will be located in a new LA-centric urban-themed area where guests will enjoy a high-energy street vibe. Currently located in this area is the popular wooden coaster, Apocalypse, and the Cyclone 500 Go Karts. New dining, games and retail locations will be added to complete the area renovation.

Construction Update - July 19, 2019 Status - Construction is progressing at a rapid pace at the Valencia theme park. Park management estimates 70% of the posts are in, with 60% of the track installed. The ride has taken some time to construct, and for good reason. The prototype features 4,000 feet of track and components so complex that parts were assembled in a warehouse in China, then disassembled for shipping. The footings have been the biggest challenge, with nearly 275 of them. The track is being shipped in from Italy, with columns being produced in Palmdale and China. Concept - The concept for the ride dates back to 2014 when Six Flags management team were discussing ideas for a new coaster. What we see under construction today began development in 2017, with construction beginning last year. The Scene - When complete, the queue building will a replica of West Coast Customs Burbank shop. While guests wait in line, they will be treated to prop cars and a peek into the WCC garage. The ride will be housed in a newly remodeled area, complete with new midways resembling city streets, multiple gift shops, a street taco dining establishment, a chicken restaurant, an updated candy shop, a refill and snack station, newly constructed restrooms, and a lounge for membership pass holders.
Uniqueness - West Coast Racers is the first of its kind; a quadruple lunch coaster which guarantees a race every time, with the weight of the trains determining the winner, so your chances are different every time. The track utilizes a pre-existing wash, which will resemble the LA river featuring dips and launches.
